A funny story goes with one of the photos from this premiere. Just about the only time a magazine story is about when and where a movie premiere photo was taken is usually the week after the premiere. Otherwise, the photo becomes a stock image that can and will be used to satisfy whatever the news is at the time. Such is the case with a cover shot of mine of Ashton Kutcher. You can also file this one under, “Photoshopped much?”

At the time these photos were taken in January of 2003, Ashton was engaged to his co-star in this movie, Brittany Murphy. But by the time summer rolled around, Us Weekly Magazine decided to use one of my photos of Ashton as a cover shot to announce his new relationship with Demi Moore. Needless to say, Demi was not at the premiere. And as for the “Photoshopped much?” question, well … they reduced the rosiness of his cheeks, removed the shine off his lower lip, emphasized the highlights in his hair, and obviously felt there was too much white in their page layout with their logo and surrounding photos, so they changed his shirt to blue. Oh yeah, then they pasted Demi in to make it appear they were photographed together as a couple. My agency had to call me to make sure it was, in fact, my photo before issuing their invoice to Us Weekly!

Well-known at the time as a fellow cast member of Ashton’s on That ’70s Show, who knew Mila Kunis would ascend 9 years later as Esquire Magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive?

As for Brittany Murphy … gone too young. Rest In Peace.

Also attending the premiere were Valeria Andrews, Kyle Cease, Sarah Chalke, Marisa Coughlan, Angie Everhart, Jennifer Freeman, Soleil Moon Frye, Topher Grace, Seth Green, Danny Masterson, Kristin McQuade, David Moscow, Vanessa Parise, Laura Prepon, Jon Voight, Lauren Woodland and Wilmer Valderrama.
