The Koroibos Foundation of the Southern Californian Olympians & Paralympians takes its name from the first recorded Olympic medal winner in history. The Koroibos Foundation provides financial grants to individuals who have demonstrated the potential to make a future U.S. Olympic Team.

Named after 1932 Olympian and female athlete pioneer Babe Didrikson, the Koroibos Foundation’s Babe Awards highlight Courage and Leadership in the Olympic family in Southern California and during the Olympic Games.

Anita DeFrantz received the 2014 Babe Award for her continued leadership and commitment to promoting Olympic ideals for athletes globally. Wayne Wilson accepted on Anita’s behalf.

Pat McCormick received the 2014 Babe Award for her lifetime of leadership and work in the Southern California Community in youth sports.

Connie Paraskevin received the 2014 Babe Award for her leadership in the Southern Californian Community in youth cycling.

Jennie Reed, Sarah Hammer and Dotsie Bausch received the 2014 Babe Award for their courage in the semifinal ride of the Women’s Team Pursuit event in London 2012.
