Mattel decided that the occasion of Barbie’s 50th Birthday was momentous enough that they spent six months planning decor for a mansion house in Malibu, California for the event. Lots of celebrities attended the event (see our photo blog of the arrivals) and signed a giant birthday card to the doll as they posed on the red carpet.
No detail was seemingly too small. From the Barbie fountain and pink Volkswagen Beetle at the entrance to the many accessories on display inside the house.
Access was granted to the doll’s bedroom and members of the media quickly fawned over the closet full of Christian Louboutins!
Heading outside for poolside refreshments, even the bar had a distinctly Barbie look to it!
