One of the major awards shows of the year, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are presented by SAG-AFTRA, the union that represents most of the talent and production people in movies, television and radio.
Big awards shows tend to bring out big talent. While they also present opportunities to showcase younger talent, it’s when the living legends of Hollywood like Diane Keaton stop by for a photo that make me feel so honored to be a part of the celebration.
Clint Eastwood is certainly another talent of legendary stature.
As for younger talent, the cast of Sex and the City won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and it is clear that Kristin Davis was enjoying every minute of the experience!
With a smile on his face during arrivals, Tim Robbins won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his amazingly dramatic work in “Mystic River”.
In 2004, the art of spray tanning was, let’s just say, not yet ready for prime time as Charlize Theron demonstrated, not just at these awards, but did so again in our coverage of the Oscars® later the same year!
Naomi Watts was dating Heath Ledger at the time. It’s clear they were smitten with each other!
Renee Zellweger, who won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her gun-toting earthy performance in the Civil War drama “Cold Mountain”, showed that she really cleans up nice!
